Do you need vision insurance if you have health nsurance?

Similar to dental plans and hearing plans, vision insurance is specific to providing preventative care, testing and corrections regarding your eye health. Health insurance (or medical plans) offers a larger scope of the body as a whole.

Some medical plans (laws vary by state) may offer minimal perks like a new prescription however health insurance plans would not cover corrective vision devices like contacts or glasses. They could/would cover the ability to see a doctor concerning your eyes when you experience emergencies like infections, dry eyes, or more.
